KENOSHA, Wis. (November 28, 2023) – Centrisys/CNP, a leading North American manufacturer of decanter centrifuges and advanced biosolids treatment technologies, announced its pivotal role in the MSD Project Clear (MSDPC) solids management upgrade (SMU) to its Bissell Point and Lemay wastewater treatment facilities. Making a significant investment in cleaner and more efficient technology, MSDPC will replace existing units with new advanced solids management equipment and processes. The SMU design-build project, led by Kokosing/Plocher, LLC (KP), will see the deployment of 12 Centrisys/CNP CS30-4DT 2-Phase decanter centrifuges – six at Bissell Point and six at Lemay. These units will form a crucial part of the new solids handling processes.

The $900 million SMU project will improve air quality, increase energy efficiency, lower operating and maintenance costs, and create more than 200 new jobs.

"We are proud to be part of this significant initiative towards enhancing environmental health,” said Josh Gable, sales director for Centrisys/CNP. “Our appointment as the exclusive vendor for decanter centrifuges for this project underlines the quality and reliability of our products. The new systems will provide cleaner water and air for the St. Louis region, underscoring MSDPC's commitment to the environment and human health."

Features of the Centrisys/CNP CS30-4DT 2-Phase decanter centrifuges include:

    • ROTODIFF® hydraulic scroll drive—Centrisys’ standard back drive
    • Highest G-volume and torque capacity
    • Feed capacity up to 700 gpm
    • Lowest installed combined HP (275HP) in its size specification
    • Increased solids handling, reduced polymer consumption
    • Auto lube system
    • USA designed and built
    • Regional service and repair facility

KP's strategic preselection of key equipment suppliers, including Centrisys/CNP for decanter centrifuges, proved instrumental in the successful project proposal. Centrisys/CNP's dedicated design input, project RFP support, pricing/budgeting, and field/operations management achieved the lowest cost for MSDPC.

MSDPC owns and operates seven wastewater treatment facilities treating an average flow of 350+ million gallons of wastewater per day. The Bissell Point and Lemay wastewater treatment facilities are the two largest plants, both serving the Mississippi River watershed. As part of MSDPC, it is increasing wastewater collection and treatment capabilities that project officials state is “a decades-long task in the region with nearly 10,000 miles of public wastewater and stormwater sewers – the nation’s fourth largest.
