KENOSHA, Wis. (March 1, 2022) – Centrisys/CNP, a leading North American manufacturer of decanter centrifuges and advanced biosolids treatment technologies, announced it was awarded the project to upgrade equipment for the City of Houston, Texas’s largest wastewater treatment facility, the 69th Street Wastewater Treatment Plant. The upgrade will include (14) CS21-4HC 2ph decanter centrifuges with two spares. The new equipment will replace aging dewatering and solids handling equipment and will support the facility’s management of up to 200 million gallons per day (MGD) and daily average flow of 400 MGD 2-hour peak flow.

Houston’s wastewater operations include a staff of nearly 700 employees, who are responsible for the operation and maintenance of 40 wastewater treatment plants, three wet weather facilities, a collection system with over 380 lift stations, and over 6,100 miles of pipelines, ranging in size from 2 to 144 inches in diameter located throughout the Houston area. The City’s 69th Street Wastewater Treatment Plant currently consists of 21 decanter centrifuges separated into seven trains. Each train is equipped with two duty decanter centrifuges and one standby. The upgrade will allow for the replacement of existing decanter centrifuges, continuing the use of two decanter centrifuges per train, with two backup decanter centrifuges stored onsite.
In October 2022, Centrisys/CNP announced the planned opening of a new service and repair center in Houston, Texas, to support customers located throughout the south-central region of the U.S. The facility opened in January of 2023 and will offer full-service repair and maintenance capabilities, including inspections, machining, welding, and balancing. Onsite technicians will also have the capability to test equipment and manufacture spare parts all under one roof, with quality control capabilities for all brands of decanter centrifuges.
