Centrisys is a USA manufacturer of dewatering centrifuges, sludge thickeners and provides global centrifuge service, repair and parts for all decanter centrifuge brands. CNP, a subsidiary of Centrisys, supplies nutrient recovery and advanced biosolids treatment systems for phosphorus recovery and thermal hydrolysis processes. Access our complete advanced biosolids treatment portfolio.
Centrisys secured an order from the City of Manchester, New Hampshire for the Department of Public Works–Environmental Protection Division's Solids Train Project for three THK350 sewage sludge thickeners and upgrades to all existing decanter centrifuge control panels. The THKs will eliminate the release of phosphorus. The captured phosphorus will be maintained in the biosolids; this plays a critical role in meeting the city's P effluent permit. All units will be designed, engineered, and built in the United States, with centrifuge shipment expected in November 2021.

Centrisys’ dewatering centrifuge installations are complete at two New York wastewater treatment plants. Sixteen CS26-4 centrifuges are installed at each location, for a total of 32 centrifuges, to dewater the city’s anaerobically digested sludge. The installed centrifuges at Hunts Point Wastewater Treatment Plant, in the Bronx, and Wards Island Wastewater Treatment Plant, in NYC, consume 50% less total power than the previously installed centrifuges which save each location over $1M a year.
The Centrisys DLT Series Dryer is a modular, low-temperature, dual belt dryer system engineered to be energy efficient, reduce biosolids weight up to +80% and convert biosolids to Class A. By incorporating proven drying methods and technologies, the DLT design enhancements make the system more efficient, more robust, more service friendly than other dryers.

A CalPrex pilot test was performed at a midwest food and beverage facility. CalPrex harvests the phosphorus from a high phosphorus wastewater stream at the plant, easing the burden on the facility's wastewater treatment plant and the local watershed. The harvested phosphorus, which is recovered as brushite (right image in granule form), can be resold as a fertilizer.
PONDUS is designed for solids from 4% to 12% and uses a combination of caustic soda (NaOH) and low grade heated water (140 °F to 160 °F) to break down the cell walls. It is a cost-effective choice that requires little day-to-day plant supervision that had no heat exchangers or pressure vessel.

The Fox River Water Reclamation District installed MagPrex, Centrisys/CNPs flagship struvite recovery technology, to process anaerobically digested sludge and sequester soluble phosphorus, as struvite, by adding diffused air and MgCl2. MagPrex is currently being optimized but has already recorded effluent soluble phosphorus concentrations of less than 25 mg/L. By reducing the soluble phosphorus, MagPrex decreases the struvite build-up maintenance costs and the flow efficiency loss for downstream treatment processes such as dewatering.
